7 DAY DETOX:
Before one goes on the 30-day Plan to Grow a New Body and Mind, Dr. Villoldo suggests a 7-day detox:
First Breakfast (7 A.M.): Green juice. Recipe: 6 small leaves of kale, 2 leaves of collard greens, ½ cucumber, 2
stalks of celery, ½ inch ginger, ½ lemon (peeled), ½ green apple. Drink about 8 ounces. No coffee or tea. Drink
plenty of water with the meal and throughout the day— a total of 8 glasses at least.
Second Breakfast (10 A.M.): Proteins and fats of your choice. Eggs, goat cheese, avocado, smoked fish, and nuts
are all great options.
Lunch: Green salad or a large serving of vegetables steamed or sautéed in vegetable broth. Use healthy oils and
herbs and spices for flavor. Combine with a handful of seeds or nuts, an avocado, or a serving of smoked salmon,
wild-caught fish, quinoa, or lean, organic, grass-fed meat. Fruit of your choice.
Afternoon Snack: Nuts, seeds, avocado mashed with spices and herbs, a small salad, or green juice.
Dinner (finish by 6 P.M.): Same as lunch. You can drink green tea throughout the day. Green tea contains minimal
caffeine but many antioxidants, and can switch on cellular detox pathways.

NOTE: I'm still practicing the above detox diet. I haven't quite given up my breakfast coffee with filtered 2% milk
and 1 teasp. coconut oil or my 4 oz. red wine at Happy Hour four days a week. I haven't given up my Kefir yet
either nor my Greek Yoghurt. I haven't given up Challah Bread, but searching for a homemade recipe. I haven't
made a green drink yet and will probably substitute the vegetables whole and steamed first. Haven't found goat
cheese yet, but have been informed that I might find it at Whole Foods in Destin.
This 7-day plan takes mighty effort an I'm just not there yet. Otherwise, I'm off sugar, most bread, all wheat except
Challah, gluten, hard liquor, metformin, statins, Trump bashing, and obsessing
SUPPLEMENTS FOR THE 7 DAY DETOX:
MORNING (ON ARISING): Vitamin B12 is essential for liver detoxification and for preserving intact DNA, important
for cell growth. Most Americans are B12 deficient. Be sure to take sublingual methylcobalamin, an enhanced form
of B12 that dissolves quickly under the tongue. Take 2,500 micrograms (mcg).
Vitamin C is essential for detoxification processes. Take 2,000 milligrams (mg).
Vitamin D3 is essential to enable the body to absorb calcium, and it can prevent or reduce depression, dementia,
diabetes, and autoimmune disorders. During the seven-day detox, take 5,000 international units (IU) of vitamin D3.
S-acetyl glutathione is the first truly bioavailable form of the free-radical scavenger glutathione. Take 1 gram in
the morning on an empty stomach. DHA and EPA, docosahexaenoic acid and eicosapentaenoic acid, are omega-
3 fatty acids important for brain health and preventing Alzheimer’s. They’re found in fish, nuts, seeds, and certain
oils, but supplements are recommended. Take 3 grams. Curcumin, the active ingredient in the spice turmeric,
activates the genes that turn on powerful antioxidants in the brain. Take 1 gram. Be sure it is in liposomal form.
Trans-resveratrol, found in red wine and red grapes, also triggers production of the brain’s antioxidants and
regulates genes that activate apoptosis, programmed cell death. Take 500 milligrams (mg).
Pterostilbene, found in blueberries and grapes, works with trans-resveratrol to prevent cancer and other diseases.
Take 250 milligrams (mg).
ProAlive Probiotic resettles healthy flora in the gut and facilitates digestion. Take five drops in water. (You can

Coconut oil is jet fuel for the brain. Take 1 teaspoon in the morning and 1 teaspoon in the midafternoon.
